Home to the Shrovetide football match, where a massive game is played through the village, this historic market town is right on our doorstep. With over 200 listed buildings, you will find a historic gem around every corner.

Tissington Trail
Cycling through the Peak District is an exhilarating experience, and among the best routes out there is the Tissington Trail. The trail has around 13 miles of tracks and runs from the city of Ashbourne to Parsley Hall.
Tissington
With clusters of pretty stone cottages surrounding a gorgeous stately home (offering personal tours), a beautiful church, charming tea shop and cafe, and six ancient wells, you'll struggle to find a more perfect Peak District village than this.
The ClayRooms
Located just down the road in Ashbourne are The ClayRooms, offering the perfect introduction to pottery making. These enjoyable and creative 2 hour classes are offered as a 1:1 or group session. Chatsworth
Passed down through 16 generations, this grand stately home is brimming with ancient art, stunning architecture, and glorious gardens, just waiting to be explored. A selection of places to eat and shop throughout the grounds with many events hosted throughout the year. Discounted tickets available, please ask at Reception.
Elite Cinema
The Elite Cinema, Ashbourne which originally opened in the 1930s and then closed its doors in 1976 has now been restored to its former glory with state-of-the-art digital equipment. Haddon Hall
With 900 years of history, Haddon has much to offer. A remarkable tapestry collection; an early English furniture collection and stunning Elizabethan Walled Gardens, Haddon is one of the most significant heritage destinations in the country. Mam Tor Walk
This short, family-friendly trail offers one of the Peak District's most iconic views, and follows a route that is steeped in history. Most walkers should be able to follow this route without any difficulty at all.
Dove Valley
This short walk runs from Hitter Hill to the swallow hole on Dragon's Back and boasts breathtaking views across the Peak District. Why not stop off at the pub for a bite to eat and a pint before you head off?
White Peak Distillery
Experience the unique atmosphere, heat and smells of the working distillery set in the old Wire Works with an informative tour. Meet ‘Betty’ the 600 litre spirits still used to make White Peak gin and rum, followed by a guided tasting in the Tasting Room. Private tours are also available.

There is a wide range of activities within easy reach, from cycling to steam railways, farmyard animals to adventure playgrounds.
Horseriding
Exploring the landscapes of Derbyshire and the Peak District on horseback offers a unique and delightful perspective. There are numerous horse riding trails and pony trekking routes available for you to discover, along with top-notch horse riding centres. You can even bring your own horse for a holiday.
Art Classes
Why not combine a stay at Wildhive with a short course or masterclass at the award winning Bullclough Art School just a short drive away. Set within acres of grounds, this lovely studio provides the perfect setting to inspire creativity with the very best instruction by recognised artists who are well established in the art world and eager to share their skills.
Masson Mills
Sir Richard Arkwright's showpiece mill, built in 1738, is considered one of the finest surviving examples of an Arkwright cotton mill. Daily guided tours on weekdays (Saturdays from end of April) will give you an insight into the mills heritage and hydroelectric power generation. A working textile museum, machinery demonstrations and Visitor Centre serving light refreshments combine for an interesting day for all the family.
Great British Car Journey
A wonderful museum full of classic British cars dating back to an Austin Seven from 1921 to a 90s Bentley owned by a world famous Pop star. Many of the cars in the collection have their own unique stories related to their owners and their history. You can even pull out the choke, turn the key and take a trip down memory lane with the unique classic car driving experience Drive Dad’s Car. Workshop, café and shop.

The Potteries
Just 45 mins from Wildhive, Stoke-on-Trent is a unique city affectionately known as The Potteries. A creative city that makes beautiful things. MINNINGLOW
Star Gazing
The Peak District National Park Authority, Nottingham Trent University and the Science and Technology Facilities Council have been collaborating to identify the best dark sky conditions for stargazing. These sites are easily accessible and are well known for their panoramic views in the day time. Astronomy interpretation panels at these sites will help visitors to explore the night skies. The closest site to Wildhive is at Minninglow off the A5102 (DE4 2PN).
