A bit about us

The story so far

At the heart of the Wildhive philosophy is locality, community and a responsibility towards our planet.

Our houses and Wildhives will always be rooted in nature. Whether that be the celebration of delicious, local food on our plates, the art on the walls, or the activities we engage in within the local landscape and community.

Our story

Wildhive was created out of a love for all things local and a passion for protecting key environments and spaces. The purchase of Callow Hall was the first step in achieving this goal. Located in the beautiful Dovedale Valley, the Victorian heritage property has been extensively and lovingly refurbished. Nestled in the grounds, you'll find Treehouses and woodland Hives, perfect for a truly immersive escape to the wild.

In November 2024, we added the purchase of Eshott Hall, a beautiful Georgian manor house with 37 acres in the heart of Northumberland, to the Wildhive Collection. This warm and homely house will undergo a sensitive refurbishment to both the house, stables, gardens and grounds. Within the woodland, several Woodmans Cabins will be tucked away to allow the guest to enjoy the wilder elements but with all the home comforts close at hand.

The Wildhive way

A Wildhive hotel is a place where friends and family of all ages can gather to relax or be active. Where time spent with loved ones is precious. Where you can explore, be inspired and have fun while immersing yourself within the natural environment. Our inspiring menus are shaped by the seasons and presented simply with the wellbeing of our guests and planet in mind.

The founders

In 2020 Ed & Charles joined forces with their investors Puffin Point with a vision to create a unique and characterful collection of houses with Wildhives, where friends, family and colleagues can explore the landscape, rooted in nature.

The country houses will be of architectural interest with Wildhives built in harmony with the surrounding landscape; treehouses, hives, cabins, pigstys, water lodges or earth dens, nestled in the grounds amongst wild and inspiring spaces.

Together, guests can gather, eat and relax, with the team always on hand to facilitate activity. Whether it’s hitting the local trails in boots or with pedals, alone or with their family, we will encourage guests to explore our beautiful locations. Our wellbeing experience and boutique accommodation will ensure guests quickly escape and enter a world where their every need is met with warmth and friendliness by our Wildhive team, far removed from everyday stresses.

Our philosophy of locality, community and a responsibility towards our planet is key to our vision; whether it be the working beehives, the locally-sourced menus or our enthusiasm for the natural landscape that surrounds us, we will always be proud of our locations and communities.
