Matt Hulme's Vision for Eshott Hall
Bringing the Outside In
Interior Designer, Matt Hulme, has taken inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape, reflecting the beauty and palette of Northumberland in every detail. His approach brings the outside in without feeling rustic or twee – instead, you'll find warm, textured spaces that evoke the rolling moors and hills of the nearby National Park. Harmonious blends of greens and earthy tones mingle with soft chalky reds and pinks, whilst the coastal warmth of the region is captured through burnt ochre and rich orange hues.
Bold uses of colour and pattern celebrate the natural surroundings whilst creating a visual connection to the distinctive design of Callow Hall – though Eshott Hall will have its own unique identity and personality. Throughout the property, you'll discover repurposed antique furniture elements from the original hotel combined with bespoke, handmade pieces from UK-based artisan suppliers, giving each room an individually designed and sourced aesthetic that creates an inviting sense of comfort and familiarity.
