Happenings at Eshott Hall
Latest news from Northumberland
Whilst we work with the local authority on our pre-commencement conditions. we have been able to start some areas of the project at Eshott Hall, Northumberland in preparation for opening this summer. We've retained a core team onsite to assist wherever possible, ensuring we can continue to offer employment during the refurbishment stage.
Throughout January, the team have been busy clearing all the rooms, ahead of interior designer Matt's team at Dynargh Design creating the new individually designed bedrooms and spaces – we can't wait!
Meanwhile, we've been fostering key partnerships for the project, including awarding Boon the build of the first six Woodman's Cabins, and Black Pines have been commissioned to create our woodland wellness cabins, with more partnerships to be announced in the coming weeks.
The contents throughout the house has been carefully considered for reuse or repurposing. The remainder of the furniture and contents has been collected by local charity Orange Box North East.
Orange Box North East transforms lives by giving new purpose to unwanted furniture and household items. They bring vital support to families in need, provide free collections, and empower local residents with skills and hope through meaningful volunteering opportunities. It’s more than furniture—it’s community, care, and a fresh start. As a Community Interest Company, they operate on a not-for-profit basis. Locally based, and locally managed, all of the services, resources and finances remain in the North East!
This week, Wildhive founder Ed (accompanied by Olive the Teckle) and interior designer Matt, headed down to Boon's Winchester workshop to meet with owner, George Mayes, and see the first of the Woodmans Cabin's in production.
Boon create luxury prefabricated modular buildings with the environment at the core of everything they do. Each build uses a vast amount of locally sourced, reclaimed material alongside the latest, most thermally efficient products, keeping energy consumption low without compromising on a luxurious finish.
Boon were awarded Retail Innovation Award and 5 Star Tradestand Award at the Chelsea Flower Show 2025.
We're excited to be working with George and his team at Boon to bring Wildhive's vision of Woodman's Cabins to life at Eshott Hall and will be sharing progress as the cabins take shape.
In addition, we are delighted to be partnering with brothers Alex and Henry at Black Pines, to deliver a suite of bespoke, high-end woodland wellbeing facilities at Wildhive Eshott Hall.
The vision is to create an immersive experience that feels timeless and deeply rooted in the setting. Designed to sit naturally on the edge of the woodland, the outdoor wellbeing retreat will feature four distinct wellness cabins:
- A traditional Finnish sauna
- An aromatic herbal sauna
- A therapeutic halotherapy room (salt therapy)
- Two custom-designed plunge pools and dedicated shower facilities
- A secluded reading room with full-height glazing and cosy wood burner
The natural wellbeing area at the Coach House will underpin Wildhive's philosophy of spending time in nature, disconnecting from the digital world and allowing yourself time and space to breathe.
