This bespoke astronomy experience invites you to journey through space and time using state-of-the-art computer-controlled telescopes and astronomy cameras, revealing the hidden wonders of our universe.

From identifying the North Star and recognising constellations and planets to capturing breathtaking images of distant galaxies like Andromeda, colourful nebulae such as the magnificent Orion Nebula, and even learning techniques to photograph the elusive Aurora Borealis, this immersive experience caters to everyone from complete beginners to those looking to expand their astronomical knowledge.

With the opportunity to take home your own astronomy photographs as lasting memories, this stargazing experience offers the perfect blend of education, wonder, and natural beauty at the gateway to the Peak District.

  • 2 hour experience for 1 to 6 people with Peak Astronomy
  • We will supply blankets, hot drinks and biscuits but please wear/bring plenty of warm clothing
  • Suitable for complete beginners and those wishing to build on existing experience
  • If you have a camera bring it along (and a tripod too if you have one)
  • A mobile phone will also be useful and you may wish to pre-install the free Stellarium app before you come
  • This is an accessible activity
  • Valid for 1 year from the date purchased (the date you select is the start of your 12 month validity)*

Pricing

  • £155 for first person for 2 hours ~ each additional Adult: £25 / Child: £10)
  • Each additional hour ~ £50 for the whole group

Partly cloudy weather can still be good but forecasts of full cloud cover or rain will often require a reschedule or switch of location. 

*Your Stargazing purchase is valid for up to a year from the date of the event booked, so if the weather is poor you can rearrange an alternative date or use the credit against an alternative purchase with Peak Astronomy.

If you are staying multiple nights, Peak Astronomy are open to changing the night booked to coincide with the best weather, subject to availability.
