Chatsworth House

There is no better way to start your Christmas shopping than at the Chatsworth Christmas market. Over 100 market stalls offering a wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations plus live music and seasonal food and drink, it's a lovely way to welcome in the festive season.

CHRISTMAS AT

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth are presenting a Christmas feast for the senses with a delightful festive story inspiring sight, smell and sound, created in partnership with Joseph Coelho, OBE. Young Henry Cavendish, budding experimental scientist and grandson of the 2nd Duke of Devonshire is searching for the legendary Chatsworth lion, while the lion is on the hunt for a delicious Christmas feast! Join them, and a mischievous menace of mice, as you travel through over 20 rooms in the house, each filled with festive decorations, twinkling lights, and surprises.

MERCATUM MARKET & Christmas events at

Haddon Hall

Medieval Haddon Hall with its beautifully decorated courtyards, rooms and galleries will host over 180 artisans and makers at the famous Mercatum Artisan Market. Amongst the twinkling lights, luxury decorations and beautiful Christmas trees, grown on the estate, visitors can peruse the produce and gifts of talented artists, ceramicists, stationers, candle makers, perfumers, chocolatiers, jewellers and many more.

Warm yourself with freshly-made street food, hot chocolate and mulled wine whilst live music adds to the cosy festive atmosphere.

The Market will be open Wednesday~Sundays from 13th November to 15th December. Booking is recommended.

CHRISTMAS EVENTS IN

Ashbourne

Christmas Light Switch On

Saturday 16th November - 4pm-6pm

Assemble around the Christmas tree for the big light up at 5.30pm when Ashbourne comes to life with sparkling illuminations.

Festive music and entertainment and of course Father Christmas will be appearing with his elf acrobats, hula hoopers and stilt walkers.

 

Lantern Spectacular

Friday 6th December - 5pm-9pm

Hundreds of candle-lit willow and paper lanterns are displayed through the town of Ashbourne in a lively procession with pulsating rhythms, dynamic choreography and dramatic lighting.

This annual community event is supported by Ashbourne Arts who run lantern and puppet making workshops for members of the local community.
